10 months ago, I joined Core Pilates desperate to find something to strengthen my core and alleviate my lower back pain. What I found was a whole new way of life. Exercise had always been somewhat of a chore to me and after having three kids, I just couldn't seem to find the time to fit it in with any sort of consistency. I was amazed at how quickly I became consumed with Pilates. I started thinking about it all of the time (mostly because I was trying to figure out what the heck they meant by ""scoop my stomach in and up""). I began practicing in the car, at home washing dishes, laying in bed at night. It felt like I was learning a foreign language and I couldn't get enough of it. I started thinking more about what I was eating all day long, not in the sense of dieting, but in preparation for my workouts later in the day. I didn't want to have too full of a stomach, but I also wanted to have enough energy to get through the routine. My diet naturally improved and without much effort.
The instructors at CORE were amazing helping me understand the different exercises and engage muscles I hadn't felt in ages. Before I knew it, inches started melting away. My back pain was gone. And as I got better at the exercises, they became harder. That's the beautiful thing about Pilates, it's such a self-journey. There's always room for improvement. It never gets old. The instructors at CORE are meticulously trained to know whether you are performing the movement correctly and how to adjust you to help you get the very most out of your workout. I have never been happier with a workout program. The trainers here are worth every penny!
Recently, I started going to their Kangoolates clases. And just like when I first started doing Pilates, I feel a little bit like a fish out of water, wondering if I'm going to fall flat on my face in the rebound boots. But there's something there. Something magical and when I'm done, I feel lighter in my shoes (probably because I have just sweated my toosh off!) and I can tell that if I stick with it, I'm going to be hooked, just like I am with Pilates.
