Pete demonstrated his depth of knowledge, customer-orientation, and electro-mechanical skills to our delight on Christmas Eve.
The cable on one side of the 2-car door had broken, and the wood was pulled from the wall.
He is a customer-oriented guy. Friendly. He has a pleasing personality and a winning attitude. He taught us what we needed to know and explained everything so we would understand what was going on.
What he did:
First: he arrived on time with everything he needed.
Second: Pete quickly sized up the problem, realigned the track to get the door open, replaced the broken cable, lagged the bad side back in place, aligned the door, lagged the second side in, as a precautionary measure (impressing us), tightened and realigned the door and its limit switch to get it to smoothly close evenly on both sides, lubed the rollers, hinges and opener screw.
How he did it:
Efficently. He only took about 30 minutes to solve our problem completely.
Thoughtfully. Again, lagging in the undamaged side impressed us. Seeing that the door had a gap on one side when closed, he put in the time to correct that non-emergency flaw.
And we now know to us silicon for the rollers and hinges and the petroleum based lube for the screw.
