I've never been one to buy a puppy at a store. Oddly enough it's hard to find a basset hound any where. We paid more than we thought, but she is well worth the money. She is so smart, and best of all healthy. Every one has told us she has amazing markings and she is a perfect purebred basset hound. I couldn't ask for more in my dog ( Layla ).
