maggie maes has to be the worst place to eat or work. i personally worked there for about a month and it had to be the most degrading experience i have ever had. the owners, pam and chuck, take advantage of u (the waitress and customer) in any way possible, either paying u wrong amounts, and doing illegal things with your credit card tips. the owner, chuck, will throw things at your face and ask if u are stupid for writing a ticket wrong. i once over heard him talking to another employee saying, ""if i had a shotgun i would shoot that b*tch in her face"". unfortunately i am a young student just trying to make it, and can't do anything about the experience i had. other waitresses told me its no use because chuck has too much political power and covers his tracks. but long story short, definitely never work there. the owners almost insist on shitty service. they dont want u to change any menu items (no adding or subtracting off ur meal) and when u do, the waitresses pay for it. the cook is good but they will try to charge u for anything and everything they can (lemons, saltine crackers, anything). so if u feel like being in, and supporting an environment like that, more power to ya.
