We were given an approximate estimate of 4 hours for the loading time of our home. But when the job took much longer than expected, we were billed for 10 hours loading, we lodged a complaint with the company. The next day prior to unloading the owner of the company came to our house, we thought to try and resolve the issue. He entered the house aggressively demanding money before the unloading process would begin. I basically felt like I was being strong armed with every possession to my name being held hostage. During the original complaint my wife had expressed her concern about the age of the movers and the 102+ temperature that day plus the extra time it took. The reason we hired movers was not to expose the older members of our family to that heat. I believe she stepped over the line with that comment because the owner touted his war record, weapons experience, combat jumps, and how he could out perform me. He was doing all this in our bathroom standing over my pregnant wife as she wrote the check for the amount I felt we were strong armed into writing. He probably felt this was the only way he was going to get paid after we complained but that wasn't the case, we are very honest people and would have paid without the strong arm tactics. We just wanted to express our concern over what we considered ""milking the clock"", they are paid by the hour. The final amount we paid was probably similar to what we would have paid in the end without the strong arm and somewhat frightening tactics. I would highly recommend not doing business with this company and plan to make sure nobody I ever talk to does.
