Called in for a service estimate, and had to give my credit card over the phone to get the service man to come to my tenant occupied home. Never got a call to authorize work to be done, they just simply charged my credit card! (over eight hundred dollars!!) even before ever seeing a full estimate!
When i called to get an explanation, they simply said it was not company policy to render a full estimate or obtain authorization as it is ""often hard to get a hold of the customer"" Shame on me for giving my credit card over the phone but i never agreed to the services they claim they performed. I should have gotten a full estimate and they should have gotten approval from the customer PRIOR to them starting work..just poor business sense for them to do it this way, and absolutely fraudulent to charge a customers credit card without a signed receipt or authorization form, even if the customer verbally gave the # over the phone.
