I contacted Burch Better Homes in Ankeny as 1 of 5 bids for doing my roof. They came in as the low bid for the job. I contacted Mr. Burch to get a contract from him. He sent it for $6,050. I left messages for him that I wanted them to do the roof. Two weeks later he still had not contacted me. When he finally called me back, (about 3 weeks later, he said he made a mistake and it was now $9,000 for the roof. He went from lowest to Highest price. Unbelievable. Then he said he would send someone out to re-bid it. They came out, but I have never heard a word from him since. Mean while prices of Shinigles continue to go up and I am sure all the other bids will have gone up in price. Seems like a terrible way to do business. Stay with a reputable contractor like Wright Roofing.
