Al & Alma's total disdain for customer service 6/7/2011

We called at noon on June 7 to make reservations for that evenings cruise on Lake Minnetonka for my sister from Michigan, my wife, and me. We were assured that there was much room .available. We used two Living Social coupons and one full fare ticket. As we walked toward the boat, my sister became a victim of heat illness and due to her illness, we decided to forego the cruise and get her comfortable and seek medical assistance if the need became apparent. While I went to get the car to pick up my sister, my wife walked to Al & Alma's to inform them of the turn of events. Instead of offering to call to the boat or offer any assistance, my wife was instructed to walk back down to the boat and report it to the captain. The captain was ungracious and was told she could get a voucher for the full fare but we would have to forego any reversal of the usage of the Living Social vouchers. The parking attendant was rude and abrasive and just gave the impression of an unmanneredly rogue who had never been taught proper manners nor customer service that would be contribute to customer loyalty The club staff was rude as we asked for a table to have some iced tea while waiting the 75 minutes for the departure. It was 102 degrees at this time and it was a most uncomfortable wait. Only two other tables were occupied and one customer was at the bar. Needless to say on a steamy hot day with more staff standing around than customers, we expected some evidence of business propriety in a lackluster economic period. Mc Donald's puts this group to shame. I would urge all to consider a different venue if desiring a Lake Minnetonka voyage. Needless to say, we will urge all who we know to do the same. more
