We tried to visit La Shish 2 years ago when we visited family in E Lansing as my boyfriend lived there years ago and spoke of the many great Middle Eastern meals he had enjoyed at this restaurant. Sadly, it was closed and out of business. This year after landing in Detroit, once again we headed toward Michigan Avenue in search of this cuisine, and behold, La Shish was not only open, but bustling with business. The food was everything and more than we expected! The fresh baked bread was so good we had to take some home for the family! We shared a chicken dish and it was so delicious we mopped up the juices with the bread. We fly home Sunday, and we plan to save time for a stop at La Shish before the airport. The restaurant is under new ownership, the staff and management, friendly and efficient. No complaints here, except maybe we'd like wine with out food! Don't miss this little gem!
