Dr. John Dee, Lake Emma Animal Hospital is currently under investigation as a result of a complaint I filed with the Board of Veterinary Medicine in Tallahassee regarding the death of my cat Bandit. The Case Number is 2011027249. Bandit hadn’t been eating well the last few days. Dr. Dee did sometests on her and called me the next day and told me she had kidney disease. He told me that I needed to bring her in for IV fluid treatment that would last for 3 days to get her stabilized.
This treatment is safe and without risks unless the cat has heart problems like Bandit did. She had a heart murmur. They noticed she was having trouble breathing at 5:30PM and she was dead at 6:45PM. If a cat can be dead from this treatment in 1 hour and 15 minutes how can it be safe to administer IV fluids overnight when no one is there?
I know that Bandit was 17 years old, but the result of Dr. Dee's treatment is she had a shorter life not a longer one.
