I have been getting tattoos for over twenty-five years now . I have been fortunate enough to get work done by some amazing artists in different shops all over the world. Fortunately, most of them do not watch LA or Miami Ink and believe their own hype while turning into ""Rock Star"" artists....
I was amazed at the attitude from the studio manager over the phone..I almost thought I was in LA.....not Raleigh, NC. After explaining my situation and what I wanted done to start finishing a sleeve and that I was new to the area and liked Lacie's work after searching online, I was told about consultation fees, appointments for consultations and then it would be about six weeks before she could see me.....wow. Now I appreciate artists being good and that they are busy ( I have had some major work done by Brandon Hannah in Nashville), but it all just came off so wrong and snotty. They never even recommended another artist who might not be as busy......well I guess times have changed and the attitude is more important than the work or bringing in new business. I have been in the music business for thirty years and this was almost like dealing with a self important musician. But I get paid to deal with them, not pay to have to deal with that attitude....
