Last year when I moved to New York City I was having a difficult time finding a place to live. I went and saw literally dozens of places and I just didn’t feel comfortable with any of the situations. It was one thing or another, and the situations kept getting sketchier each time. It was uncomfortable and a huge waste of time. Places were messy, overpriced, and not at all what they looked like in the pictures, and the potential roommates were weird, unstable and dishonest. I didn’t know what to do or where to go and then I met Michael Chan. Within hours he had meetings set up in several buildings that were exactly what I had expressed to him that I wanted. He was friendly and organized which made the entire process much more manageable with my busy work schedule. Especially when you’re first getting into the city, it’s very hectic and even though I am a person who can handle a lot, I admit it was overwhelming. I absolutely recommend working with an agent like Michael because he knows his stuff and will not only make it easier on you, but he will get you what you want. And honestly, without that connection, it’s like anything else in the city, you probably won’t get it. When we went into these buildings the people were expecting us and so they took us right in, there was no weirdness or waiting around, it was very streamlined. \r

I’m so glad that I decided to work with Michael- when I think of the places that I almost ended up in, I’m so much happier in my clean, safe and secure apartment. No weird landlords, no sketchy terms, everything was very by-the-books and official, which is exactly what I needed to feel comfortable with this move. \r
