Last week, we put cream of broccoli soup down the garbage disposal ...and found it in the tub. Our pipes were backed up. We sank an entire bottle of Liquid Plumber but even by morning, nothing had moved. My dad said we'd probably had a root grow into our pipe from the street and told us to call Roto Rooter.
At 8:30am the next morning we called. The Roto Rooter plumber dispatcher in Seattle said they would be here right away and were in our driveway half an hour later. (That's what you want on a weekday when you've got one dysfunctional shower and you've got to get to work!)
My husband showed him the problem, and their service technician, Florin Regus, took a look at all fixtures and quickly determined what the problem was (not a root after all) and worked quickly to get the pipes flowing (somewhere under the house between the kitchen and the bathroom).
One thing I especially appreciated is how careful he was about the mess; he put slippers on over his shoes and even worked over a tarp.
Because Florin was so efficient, my husband was at work in time for his morning meeting and our pipes have been great since. (And with a 6 month guarantee on the work, we don't feel like we've got to tiptoe when we go near our kitchen sink!)
We'd recommend their service to anyone unfortunate enough to have similar problems.
