Izgara has some confusion about what it's trying to be, and that detracts a bit from its great food. The hookah room in the back is almost always empty when we're there, and so is the bar. The belly dancer who performs live on Friday and Saturday nights, totally spoils the atmosphere for family or date-night dining. With all of this going on, its not surprising that the service is sometimes a bit slow.
If it were not for these distractions, this would be a favorite restaurant in Forest Grove. The food is excellent and the prices reasonable.
The hummus is well textured and tasty, and the falafel is some of the best I've had in the United States. The traditional serving style always includes an interesting variety of small taste treats (salads, sauces and the like,) and the spices are well balanced, the meats tender.
Try it during the week or early on weekends, and you'll have an enjoyable meal.
