Poor work 2/22/2011

Recently we took our vehical in for a diagnosis; it had shut down and would not stay running. The Firestone located in Orem diagnosed the problem as needing the timing chain replaced. I didn't feel that this was the right problem with the car only having a 100k miles. These chains typically don't go bad and if they do it is usually well over 200k miles. This was a huge expense and I felt it needed another opinion. If the problem could be confirmed by two mechanics then I would have been willing to let Firestone do the work. I had the Honda dealership pick our vehicle up and give their opinion. The mechanic I dealt with at the dealership assured me that our timing chain was perfectly fine and not skipping\r as we had been told by Firestone. The problem was found and made more sense, even to me who doesn't know a whole lot about cars, but enough to know when it doesn't sound right. Consequently we had the problem fixed for about half the price and it hasn't had a problem since. more
