My family and I love to take an afternoon walk and always end up at Knudsen’s Ice Creamery. This locally family owned restaurant is the heart of Castro Valley! Kids are very much welcomed and encouraged here. The food is just plain Good American food, defiantly comfort food. My wife loves the Sweet Potato Fries with melted marshmallow fluff, something you can't find anywhere else! I love that I can get a good hot dog or chili dog at a sit-down restaurant. The kid’s portions are enough to fill them up and take a little home for later. We visit Knudsen's almost every week. The price is right, the staff is attentive and the true test of any restaurant is the bathrooms are always clean.\r
