Lets try to make a long story short, My car (2010 Subaru Forester) was brought in on 01/04/11 after getting rear ended. The woman that hit me had GEICO and this is a GEICO affiliated shop. So their work is supposed to be guaranteed.... which is really not the case. Three weeks after the accident I received a call asking me to pick up the car. When I got to the shop and examined the car I noticed a few things wrong. The rear hatch which they painted had scratches all over it, ""orange peel"" and they also applied seam sealer under the paint in the trunk which is not how the factory produces the car. The paint in the trunk was the wrong color by the way. I was assured that the job would be fixed. A week later I got a call and went in. My findings: Paint applied the correct color but had runs, They painted another layer over the seam sealer, the scratches on the hatch were still present, there was glue all over the weatherstrip, and now the hatch was not opening smoothly. When I brought all these issues to their attention I was told that I am just making excuses, the car is fine. Geico told the shop they must fix the car. The third time I went to the shop the car was ok except for the seam sealer / paint issue which both Geico and Autotech refused to fix. I was told that the car is safe and 100%
My issue is cosmetic not safety, Just because you normally dont look at a part of a car it doesn't mean it should be neglected or done differently. Geico stated that the car would be returned to me in Pre Accident condition and it has not been. I have pictures... my car did not look like this.
My advise STAY AWAY!!!
