Poor Business Practices (to say the least)! 12/6/2011

This gym has very bad business practices (to say the least).\r \r When I signed up I explained that my job would be transferring me to another state in a few months. I was told by the manager Derek that I could pay $10 additional per month along with the first and last months fees, then my membership would be month to month and I could cancel at any time. He explained that when my job relocation takes place, ""just give us a 30 day notice and there would be no problem."" When my job relocation took place, I gave my 30 notice as agreed upon. I also provided a copy of my drivers license with my new address. A month later, I noticed a charge on my credit card for my monthly fee. I called and spoke to Derek, the manager. He explained that a drivers license with the new address was not enough to cancel a membership. He requested a copy of a signed lease. I immediately faxed him the signed lease. A week later my credit card received two additional charges. I called and spoke to Derek again. He appologized and explained it would be taken care of same day. He even called me and explained it was done. After several days of reviewing my credit card activity looking for a credit, I called my credit card and disputed the charges. A month later I received notice from Omni they were turning the amounts into collections.\r \r I am very disappointed with Omni Fitness. I had a membership with them for over 2 years previous to this membership. I highly recommend customers take my experience into review when considering signing up with this gym. more
