While we were shopping for tile, the salesman (proprietor?) at this store was not very polite. However, we bought product from them because they were located in Burbank and our contractor, who buys product from them often, said that we could always return the product we did not open/use and pay a restocking fee (which was bad advice).
Be aware, they have a strict 5 day return policy. We were treated very rudely when we tried to return unused/unopened product. It would have been fine to simply point out to us that we did not adhere to the return policy and that they could not refund even a portion of our money, but instead the salesman talk down to us and basically relayed to us that we were stupid for even considering that we could return the product after the 5 day period. The salesman had the nerve to recommend that we should try to sell the unused tile on eBay.
We also had some additional unused title that we bought from Lowe's, and they refunded our money without question.
I understand that times for small businesses are tough, but courtesy and good customer service should not be something we have to pay extra for. I want to say that I will consider supporting a small local business for our next home improvement project, but after this experience it will be difficult.
