WILCREST WOODS APTS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS 12/19/2011

When we moved into this moldy, dry rot, smelly apartment we had already signed a 6 mo lease. The on-site manager told us that we would get all of our deposits back if we left the apartment clean at the end of our 6 mo. Thankfully, we took before and after pictures and had the apartment professionally cleaned when we vacated. The on-site manager has not returned our deposits and it has been 90 days since we vacated. It's the old "double scam." She says it's not her fault and told us to contact corporate, which we did; they never returned our calls. The manager is never around and when we do catch her she says it is not up to her (even though she is the one who took the money and made the promises.) Our pet got at least two terrible flea infestations because of all the feral cats. (money to the vet) The apartment always smelled like mold. There is something growing in the a/c unit, even though we requested (on several occasions) to have it professionally cleaned; no one ever showed up. Forget about getting your mail, if it looks like it is any good at all, someone will steal it. AND last but not least, the sub-frame and the floor have dry rot in them and are uneven; not to mention that you are constantly wondering if you will fall through the floor. Quite frankly, we are surprised that the health department has not shut this place down long ago. If you are looking for a place in a "hobo jungle" this just might be one step below that. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, you'll be money ahead. (remember you will never see your deposits again!) Keep in mind there are several nice complexes within a mile of this place. more
