I went in for hormone testing. I was told to start taking DHEA supplements even though my DHEA level was fine. My cortisol level was slightly high. I was told that DHEA would help my cortisol level. I brought the lab results to my primary doctor. He advised that there is no reason for me to take DHEA as my levels are fine. The side effects of DHEA are hair loss, acne, deepening of the voice and facial hair growth. Basically I would be taking a supplement to increase male traits. As a woman I don't want those. I have a friend that is taking a thyroid medication following her visit at this clinic even though her levels were normal. My doctor stated that he has seen questionable advice from the clinic in the past. I would stick with my primary doctor. more
