I just had an awful experience at the qvc outlet in Myrtle Beach, SC and will never be returning. I live in Myrtle Beach and frequent the outlets. I've always thought the store was kind of junky but you can occasionally find cool deals and everything is always on sale. I was interested in a christmas bulb set, which were all marked differently, while appearing to all be the same thing. I chose the $37 set and tried to ask a sales lady if all the pieces were there (thinking even if a few were missing it would still be a great deal). She brushed me off and told me to go to the cashiers. So when I went to the register to ask if all the pieces were there because of the price difference, the lady told me oh yes, if not we send them back! She then informed me that the $37 price sticker/UPC was for a sheet set and that they needed to figure out the real price. (even though there was no item description on the price tag) After quite a few minutes they finally determined that the bulb set was actually $86. I said that since it was marked incorrectly I should get the lower price. I work in retail and if we have things that are marked incorrectly we give the price to the customer and then go back and make the corrections. When I pointed that out the manager he vehemently denied that he could do that. I then pointed out that we were being punished for asking the difference between the sets. If we had just brought the bulb set up to be rung up, I seriously doubt that the cashier would have noticed the item description on her screen. After the manager continued to refuse to give me the lower price, I gave up and left. I think it is very bad business to have things marked that incorrectly and the thing that really frustrates me is that the managers at the store I work in will bend over backwards to make people happy, even when they are clearly in the wrong. I was in no means being unreasonable, just expecting to get the price that the set was clearly marked, which to me in the most infuriating thing!
