I strongly recommend going to another clinic.
Dr. Randy Tesar ( I use Doctor as loosely as possible) has extremely poor bedside manner. Upon a poor examination of my 5 month old kitty, he told me to ""watch out for the red gum line"" and after naming the horrible disease that it could turn in to told me ""he didnt want to even go into what could happen if it had it, we pull teeth from cats."" But that it's rare to see in kittens. Then why tell me at all ?? IS there another explanation???
He also continued to get my cats name wrong and sex. How hard is it to look at a piece of paper.
Dr. Tesar did not tell me anything else about my cat, if he was healthy, on track of being healthy. Nothing, it seemed like he didn't care, and that really hurt.
I need a vet to care about my animal.
A day later, I got a call from Dr.Tesar telling me my cat was testing negative for several parasites (although he'd been experiencing diarrhea for several weeks and his brothers and sisters had the coccidia parasite). He told me "" he tested negative for everything....so, uhh....I dont know what else there is..""
Horrible, horrible. Go somewhere else, there are plenty of good clinics in Portland.
- Note that Dr. Tesar has owned his practice since 1983 (thats 27 years) I think he ought to think about retiring.
