I bought a gift certificate from Healthy Chef Creations for my boyfriend so that we could do a couples cooking class together. The classes claimed to be held the first Friday of every month but that is not the case. Every month they make a list of attendees and if they can't fill 8 spots, they don't hold a class. No big deal except that month after month they couldn't fill the spots. On 1 occasion the planets aligned and we could make a class but unfortunately had to cancel. \r
When we tried to redeem the gift certificate later on a food delivery order (after being tired of scheduling dilemmas) they told us the certificate was already redeemed. They claimed we never cancelled our reservation for the class and that would cost us the full value (close to $200!) for ingredients and staff. So it was our word against theirs.\r
I contacted the chef, John, to resolve the issue and he said ""You cannot call 8 months later and say you want your money back! It is your fault not the businesses."" That is a direct quote from his email.\r
The best he could do was offer a 20% discount on a food order he said would help ""recuperate your loss"". I am shocked that a business that is based on customer experience cares so little about actually providing a good experience.
