This place is an absolute disgrace. I was sent to the Adolescent Pavilion, wrongly due to overbearing psychiatrists and miscomunication. I arrived there at two in the morning, completely exhausted and not at all happy. I thought the staff would be understanding and send me to bed, and we would work out things in the morning. Not a chance. I sat down in a chair and they began interrogating me, then yelled at me for putting my head down on the armrest of a chair. When I finally got to be around 3 in the morning, I was woken up 4 hours later by a loud obnoxious voice shouting ""EVERYBODY UP. GET OUT OF BED. LAZINESS WILL NOT FLY HERE."" I got out of bed and went into the hallway, and was immediately told to go back in my room to put on something more ""decent."" I was wearing a tank top and sweats. When i took a shower there, it lasted two minutes, in a public bathroom with a thin shower curtain. I was only allowed 15 minute phone calls at certain hours. I watched as a girl asked a staff member to unlock the bathroom door for her and be refused, simply because he was too ""tired"" to get up and wait outside the door for her. We were supposedly there for ""treatment"" but really all you do is sit around, watch tv, eat disgusting food not fit for dog, and wait anxiously for discharge. The so-called school was more like a day-care, with word searches and coloring book pages. Not to mention the fact that they lump all of these kids together in various forms of mental illness. Somone who has suicidal thoughts should not be in ""group therapy"" with someone who is severely retarded and rocks back and forth all day. The staff and nurses were unfriendly, rude and said completely inappropriate things about the patients in front of them. I cannot express how much of a nightmare being sent to this place was. I warn anyone not to send their children here for ANY amount of time. They will not be helped.
