Fred Taylor operates a splendid lunch place in downtown Baton Rouge. He serves classic Louisiana fare (with a New Orleans tone and taste). The quality control is superb. The menu choices are often healthy. They are always delicious. \r

You have not dined if Baton Rouge, if you do not know this place. There are more elegant choices and much more expensive ones, but for what it is, this is a terrific place. Do have the oyster poor boy. \r
