Golden Gowns - Ha 8/14/2010

The Bridal gowns @ Christophers must be made of gold. My daughter & I do not live in Gainesville. She is getting married next summer & we are just starting our search for that perfect dress. We drove to Gainesville on a Wednesday for the sole purpose of going to Christophers. I believe the only bridal store in Gainesville. Imagine our surprise when the door was locked. Oh, their closed all day on Wednesday. No problem, we would make another trip. We checked the times of operation ( which is posted on the front door ) so as to not make this same mistake again. After the times are listed, it says in small print _or_ by appoinment. We made our return on Friday. There were no other customers in the store. The lady asked if she could help us & I replied that we were wanting to look at bridal gowns. She quickly let me know that you could only do that by appointment. I explained to her that we were from out of town & would just like to look at what they had. She said that she was sorry but that he had an appointment due in at any time now. I asked again, can we just look. No, was her reply, theirs only one dressing room up stairs & the appoinment is due any time. Would we like to make an appointment. My daughter asked when that would be. The sales lady says, She would check her book for next week. We were there before 2:00 pm. Not knowing our schedule for next week, I would have to call her back, if we had time. Oh, she was gracious enough to tell us that some of their less formal dresses were on a rack towards the front of the store. We looked at the limited selection & chose a couple to try. In search for a dressing room, we were shown a room that was about 5 x 5 square. I tried to go in and help her with the dress but quickly realized that the room was to small, so I took the dresses off the hangers outside the room & handed them to her & then slide in to zip them up. After trying these dresses she was very hot in this unventilated closet. Not to mention that the gentleman ( I presume is Christopher )is standing outside the door when you open & close the door as she is getting dressed. I know she had to feel uncomfortable with that. Cause I certainly did. Have I mentioned that this so called appointment has yet to show up. We were there for at least 30 minutes to 45 minutes. The only customers the whole time. Not customers any longer. In this economy, I can not understand a business that refuses to allow a potential customer to view their merchandise. Like some of the other reviews. Unless you are one of the elite that actually do get to walk up those lovely stairs to view the golden gowns. more
