I've been to Tapas a few times over the years and I've had a fine time. I went today for the first time in a year or so and it was truly terrible. The management had to have changed.
First, the food was really, really, really bad. It was like they sent their orders out to Seafood City next door. The ""traditional grilled chicken"" was chicken-nugged style breaded chunks, overcooked to boot. The sausage and cheese platter used to be delicious. This time, it was a messy heap of cheese with a few shreds of not good sausage. Everything was extremely sour and salty, and tasted terrible.
Second, the decor was changed from a cozy place to a cheap pseudo-sports bar look. It used to be a classy kind of place for City Island; now, there's a big projector screen pulled down for the Yankees game. That's fine, except it's not what I want in a tapas place.
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Awful fried food, nothing tapas about it. Pseudo sports bar.
