Damian Newhart is nice to you from a business p.o.v.. He knows how to go through the motions and says and does the right things to solicit your business. He preaches on his website that he is a ""Highly moral"" person. But he falls short with his business ethnic. 1st off his unprofessional or better yet what seemed to be inexperienced staff of young ""trainees"" put the wrong type of braces on my teeth. I paid for the ceramic braces and they put the metal ones on!!! So they had to remove them with great stress to my teeth to correct their mistake. 2nd Newhart has this technique of tightening braces every three months rather than every month. He swears by this method as being sound, but think about it , it also cuts down on patient visits and operating costs on his behalf and whats to say that in a severe case of orthodontics such as mine, I would have benefited being seen on a monthly basis. I am still paying the same amount aren't I. Honestly the majority of his work is usually all performed by young hispanic males who I can't say are fully accredited technicians because all Dr. Newhart does is walk around from chair to chair instructing them what to do reserving his talent for the most difficult details that he would otherwise be liable for. The fine talent he has on staff spend more time talking about parties, movies and looking at attractive patients (Don't blame them, blame the award winning money making system of using the dental chair like a barber chair in a non private setting.)
I made a written complaint to the office manager when a tech refused to fix a bracket that broke off during a visit and from there my treatment went from bad to worse. None of the staff was updating my computerized files and to top it off Dr. Newhart ignored the remainder of our agreement as he assigned my case and follow up visits to another dentist he had just sold part of his practice to, so he could open a brand new beautiful office in upscale San Diego. I know a thing or two about morals, value excellent customer service, and what can be only construed as exploitation. Dr. Newhart promised me in a signed agreement that my teeth would be bleached after my treatment. What he did was order a tech to give me a clear bottle of peroxide that expired the following month and instruct me to use it in my retainer. How that for outstanding ""moral"" customer service.
Pros: Clean Office.
Cons: Unproffessional, unsupervised staff, poor quality work.
