The fish and chips are excellent! Deep fried, crispy, not greasy. I've tried the shrimp and smelt too, but think the fish and chips are the best thing on the menu! The tartar sauce is homemade, and the homemade coleslaw is yummy too. They also give you a gigantic dinner roll, but I usually skip it -- no sense in wasting valuable stomach room!
The place hasn't changed much since the '50s, which is a good thing. The staff have been there forever, and will recognize you after you've been in a few times. The neighborhood can be a bit dodgy, but I've never had any problems and there is usually somebody guarding the parking area on Friday night.
Pros: Fish and chips!, throwback ambiance
Cons: Shoddy neighborhood
