For the most part, I have had good experiences here but yesterday I called to get a refill for Metacam for my 13 year old dachshund and was refused the refill because another vet who worked there (who wasn't there that day) that had prescribed it didn't notate why it was prescribed in the record. After answering numerous questions from both the person that answered the phone and another vet and assuring both individuals that my dog is doing better since she started taking the medication, I was told to wait a few days and see if my dog's condition worsens before refilling. The reason for this supposedly is because the drug has side effects which can create more problems (don't all drugs though?).
Bottom Line: While I appreciate the staff's concern, if another member of the staff had previously prescribed something that is helping my dog, I shouldn't be put through the wringer when I call for a refill.
