A followup to my previous post. The management did contact me with a very nice letter of explanation as to the context of the gunsmith phonecall and why gunsmithing costs and charges are high. I still give the store and the retail sales 5 stars. I think they are a great organization. I can appreciate how difficult it is to stay in business with govt regs and taxes. That being the case, it sounds like the repair costs (any gunsmith?) are such that it is not worth getting a $500 gun fixed these days. A new gun is a better fix. I will certainly continue to buy guns at gunnies. The sales guys have always been great to me.
