Tabloid Reporting 5/29/2010

Unfortunately, the Washington Post reporter took some information and incorrectly came up with a story that is not true. She did a huge disservice to the physicians she wrote about in her series. Physicians have no way of refuting what the reporters write. The reporter called me before the article was written. I had no idea what she was writing about, but she kept asking me self-implicating questions that made no sense. She took my comments out of context and misrepresented the chronology of the series of events to fit her theme. Her interpretation of what happened was incorrect. After the article came out, I talked with her editor and explained things. The editor said she was sorry and that no more articles of this nature would be written, but the damage had been done. This tabloid reporting is deceivable and shouldn't be allowed. more
