When our sewage backup we called a plummer. They immediated brought in Duraclean. The Duraclean men did a good job but thats about where it ended. They said that they would submit the information to our insurance and we just had to pay the $500.00 deductiable. We never received a bill or a call so we assumed all was well with the claim. Two years later we get a estimate (not even labeled as an invoice) with an amount of almost 4,000.00 saying our insurance refused payment and we would be turned over to collection if money was not received in 7 days. Good thing the insurance refused payment because the bill was way out of wack. The square footage was wrong, the number of blowers and humidifies was wrong and the $500.00 deductible never was deducted. After 2 years, we lost total leverage because we had switched our homeowner policy. When we called the office, the personnel had no records of specific of when they sent the claim, to whom they sent the claim, why the claim was denied, if they spoke to anyone or any other information. When asked why after 2 years we never received a call or letter they could not answer. I feel that when service companies think that insurance companies are paying the bill they totally inflate the bill. No wonder our insurance is so high.... Call to get a copy of the bill to verify its accuracy.
