Here's the deal, you can get pro camera gear for less online, but you won't have anyone to guide you towards informed decisions about how to spend your money. And camera equipment is way too expensive to be buying something you won't be satisfied with owning.
To my knowledge, all of the sales' personnel at Precision have been or are currently, professional photographers. They have used the equipment they rep to make a living, and will gladly share their opinions and knowledge with you.
That is why I make all of my local photography gear purchases at Precision Camera. I stop by the store several times per month, and whether I'm spending big money on a new body or lens, or just browsing to see what's new, they are always willing to spend the time to share their expertise. And... I can actually handle the merchandise and judge the quality before I make an investment.
Oh, and one more thing... In the past three years that I've been building a photography business I've asked the guys at Precision a lot of ""stupid"" questions, and they have always strived to educate me, while never making me feel dumb or as if I was wasting their time.
