If you have a Family -- BEWARE BEWARE
If you are single and/or want to PARTY/CUSS and Be Obscene until the wee hours of the morning -- THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU....
Summary:
We(Me/Wife + 3 kids (9yrs,10yrs, 14yrs) pulled in and loved the scenery... People were friendly durning check-in. We went to our tent site... and it was much smaller than what appears on the park map. Its about a 20 by 20 site stacked beside and behind... So Some sites are on the river and the other sites are about 15 ft behind you... so on the map they show much further apart... but they are not.
I thought the scenery was awesome and could deal with the proximity... what i couldn't deal with was the vast number of younger adults cursing, strong sexual language/conduct and late night partying until many hours after the 12am quiet time and urinating in site of my kids. What really took the cake was when my 9yr old little girl was feeding bread to a family of little ducks that swam up to her by the river bank.... One of the girls neighboring us said very loudly... "Aww... those ducks are cute little ###effers." Such a joyous moment.
Camp Huaco does not enforce the 12am quiet time... if you need help you have to call the Sherriff (Unbelievable)...
Anyhow this place seemed to be more of a place for wild partying to go on... great if your single/very young couple but absolutely some very strong rated R and almost X behavior going on. Bathrooms are very far away from tent site and so is the running water because they have no hookups at the sites. Bathrooms/showers were pretty nasty.
After no sleep on Day 1 and being rudely warned the next day by the staff that we were 1 ft over on our campsite and needed to move some stuff we went and found a great family site about 1 mile down named River Road Camp Grounds... they have a web site...
It was $1 higher per night but man was it fantastic... we picked our site and had electric and water at our site. Mostly all families there so there was no lude behavior going on in front of my kids. There were other family camp grounds in the area that looked nice too...
Camp Huaco - SUCKS FOR FAMILIES.... PROBABLY GREAT FOR YOUNG ADULTS/COLLEGE KIDS looking for weekend benging but if you have young kids that you actually are trying to raise in a decent fashion... KEEP AWAY....
Pros: Scenery is nice and location is good.
Cons: Profanity, Lude Behavior, No quiet enforcment, nasty baths
