I called the other day to get service on my GE washing machine. A local mentioned to me how wonderful Gil's is and now living in Bristol I need to buy everything from them. She said 'if you don't buy from Gil's you are not a Bristolian! My response to this? Well, that's true I am not a Bristolian not because I wasn't born here so that would make me, hmm how about a somewhat educated consumer? cautiously optimistic? I called Gil's for the first time this past Saturday during early afternoon hours, no answer no answering machine, today, five days later at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. I decided what the hec, maybe it was a fluke not getting through. So I called and got a female, I assume it was the owner Gail but I can't be sure. However, when I told her I needed service on my washing machine she asked what type it was, when I had her on the phone and went into my basement to check she was on the phone and then when I took a minute to find the brand, their was silence, poof, she was gone! I called back SEVEN times over the next hour and have not even got an answering machine, nothing, phone kept ringing. Well, needless to say, we were set to buy from them from our friends recommendation, but wanted to see how they handled a customer service call. We plan an addition soon on our kitchen and after this very small but significant blunder they will NEVER get our business; I am done. We didn't even make it through a service call. Wow! I will call GE and give them my business and Sears for our other appliances for that matter, they are a known entity and are still in business for a reason. Gil's does not win my vote on any level. Please reconsider doing any business with these people they are a joke. As I always say you can put a plaque outside your door but it doesn't mean you are adept at running a business.
Pros: Glad I am not a customer yet
Cons: Female hung up on me!
