I recently moved from New Jersey to Tempe, Arizona to go to school at Arizona State University.
Back home, it took me a while to find a good stylist, and I followed her as she went to work at different saloons because I knew the challenge of finding a really talented stylist. I assumed it would take a great deal of time to find a new stylist and saloon; this proved not to be the case.
After having an pleasant, yet overall average haircut experience at a local barbershop (that did not wax eyebrows) I found the conveniently located Pink the Saloon. I was quickly attracted to the interested decor - a mix of urban graffiti and modern punk sentiments - and choose to get a haircut and my eyebrows waxed for the reasonable price of $40. My stylist, Matthew, ended up sharing many interests with me and I had a great time. He didn't care in the least when I didn't have the money to tip him (I am on a college budget, haha).
Anyway, I would recommend Pink the Saloon to anyone who makes good grooming a priority and enjoys talking to a friendly staff during their services. I will definitely be making this my regular saloon in Tempe - all after one visit!
