Where do I begin. First off I am a 32 yo self-employed male who's work has brought me up and down the East Coast. I have had many landlords and can use any one of them for a reference. Some have been worse than others but J Butler, by far, takes the cake for the worst.
Now, I don't usually read or write reviews but after my experience with them, I thought it would be wise to see what people where saying about my future landlord when I decided to leave J. Butler. It was a great decision on my part for my new landlord has done more for me in the last two months than J. Butler had done in the year I was with them. And my new landlord doesn't even specialize in property management!
J. Butler does not return phone calls, they do not handle any of the repair work, in the middle of an economic downturn they will still raise your rent. If by chance you do get a hold of someone, they will tell you the person you need to speak with is not in and they will relay the message.(I wonder who they relay it to because it always goes nowhere.)
I really wish I could say something positive about them because it really was a lovely home. But that praise is held for the actual owner, who was a wonderful person and did more for us than J. Butler ever did including all the lawn care.
Now I'm not vindictive and never post my opinions on matters but the last words I heard from Jim(the owner) was, after talking about my security deposit and why I hadn't received it after two months and, when I finally did, had 1/3 of it taken out with no explanation, "If you have a problem and want to do something about it, I'll make sure you get none of it back" and then he hung up on me.
After giving this man close to $2,000 every month this is the way he decided to end it.
The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with.
