Beware of everything about them 12/17/2010

I had a problem with the inducer motor in my furnace and called Appliance Doctor. They charged me $50 service call and came out with a new motor 3 days later. They said the motor was $450. Beings I needed a motor I agreed to go ahead with the repair. I did some research and found that the motor could be purchased retail anywhere for $124-154.00. Beware of this company.\r The service tech was also not too bright because he put a jumper wire on the furnace to make it run without me changing the thermostat. He left the jumper wire on and put the cover back on the furnace which made it run. It would have run til doomsday had I not said something about the wire. duh. He took it off and left to get the part. When he came back, it so happened it was the wrong part and he started to take the olds one apart to exchange the shroud on the fan motor, then I said something about that and he said, ""oh, it is the wrong part"". duh. He left and came back with the correct one and put it on. This was a $300 + clear profit for a job that I could have done myself for $150 or less. more
