Doing business with Dave Smith Ford was my worst experience ever!!! In August 2010 I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Dave Smith Ford and was misled by the salesman about the condition of the vehicle when he stated that it was in Excellent Condition. After 2 weeks I took it to 2 other mechanics to have a problem diagnosed because the engine was making an abnormal noise that they claimed was a normal alternator noise. It was pointed out to me that there were numerous mechanical problems including an engine leak from the crank shaft, a pinion seal leak on the rear axle, a broken exhaust bracket, emergency brake cables with broken brackets replaced with a plasic zip tie on one side and nothing on the other side, worn parts on the steering column, and a spare tire that did not hold air. The vehicle was in for repairs 3 times in less than 30 days. I requested my money back after the second time and some of the repairs were made, but the engine still made the abnormal noise. I paid another Ford Dealer to diagnose the problem and was told it was an internal engine problem. After filing complaints with Ford Motor Company, the NY State Attorney General's Office, the Department of Motor Vehicles Fraud Department, and threatening legal action I was given a refund as a credit towards another vehicle. I was forced to purchase a new vehicle in order to never have to deal with Dave Smith Ford again. I will take my new vehicle to another Ford Dealership for service. Dave Smith Ford does not stand behind what they sell. The vehicle I returned was put back on the lot for $2700 more than I paid for it.\r
