I have used Preferred Automotive for a decade and always have received good service. The staff is courteous, competent, and fair. My most memorable experience with Preferred occurred in 2009, when I took in my wife's Subaru Forester for routine service at about 20,500 miles. Preferred informed me that the coolant level was low. After eliminating several possible sources of the trouble, Preferred advised me to take the car to the dealer if it still was under warranty-- it was, barely --to have it checked for possible head gasket failure or a cracked block. After eliminating lesser possibilities, the dealer ended up replacing the entire engine --and as Preferred had suggested, it was covered by warranty. Thanks to Preferred for flagging the trouble and referring me to the dealer for warranty work.
