Cheers SGA! 11/24/2010

Whether you are looking to start a new career, learn a new trade or supplement your income, SGA is the answer to this harsh economy. I work as a freelancer in the entertainment industry and was looking for the perfect job to supplement my income between gigs, without having to resort to waitressing. (No offense waitresses!) Dealing at a casino it seems, is the most flexible schedule of any job out there. It was a perfect fit. But I couldn't find a casino to train a non-employee, and was referred to SGA. Skeptical at first, I made my initial appointment for the next Monday, so I could get a feel for the people running it. I expected a hard-sell for both programs they offer (Table games and Poker) but they were completely honest with me and I actually was turned towards the least expensive of the two because there were more job opportunities for a Table Games dealer. I instantly trusted and respected the owners and instructors as well as their knowledge and advice. The atmosphere is very casual and you set your own pace for learning. If you pick things up quickly and devote 8 hours a day/four days a week, you'll finish the program much faster. If you take awhile to learn new things, the instructors are more than patient and can help you one on one with certain problems you are having. Even though I've graduated, I still go and practice. SGA is more than a school, it's a club. It's basically my Cheers, (without the alcohol ... or Norm) but you really get to know everyone in both classes, which makes it an exciting and playful way to learn. Glad I did it! more
