I asked the owner of the company, William Bennett, to come check a small leak on one of my water shut off valves after I had shut off the water. Mr. Bennett showed up 1 hour late (called at 8 pm, showed up at 9:50) and then after tightening one nut on a shut-off valve, I asked him to check the other shut off valves. He seemed to be in a rush but he grudgingly checked the other faucet shut-off valves and assured me that they were ok and not leaking. Moreover, I asked him about replacement and he said that as long as they do not leak, they are ok. However, one of the lines he checked started leaking a few days later and I called back and spoke with Julie, a receptionist, who indicated that Mr. Bennett could come back to resolve the issue given that he gave his professional opinion that the shut off valve was not leaking. However, only an hour before the appointment, I received a call from Randy, a technician, indicating that Mr. Bennett planned to charge me for a follow up visit. I indicated that this was not fair given that after checking all the shut off valves, Mr. Bennett had given his assurance that they were ok. At this point, Randy began arguing with me over what assurance and professional opinion meant; I simply pointed out that I cannot believe anything that Mr. Bennett says or does given that he did not stand behind his work. Randy went on to assert that the Plumbing Doctor has a good reputation and that I am just ""stupid and unhappy."" I indicated their reputation is determined by customers not him. The conversation ended with him responding in an unprofessional threatening manner which is why I am filing a complaint with BBB. I will never use this firm nor will I recommend them for any other work. I hope this complaint helps others avoid the same mistake I made. There has been no resolution and I do not want to deal with these rude unprofessional people ever again. Even if they offered to come to my home and stand behind their professional assessments, I would not let them and would instead call City Police before dealing with them. I am planning more plumbing work which I would have offered them but not after this episode. I deal with only BBB certified contractors but given their unprofessional manner, uncertain quality work which they refuse to endorse, and rudeness, they should not be a BBB company. I have service contracts with 4 large BBB A+ firms and they are responsive, courteous, and fair. In sum, this firm makes professional judgments which it refuses to support. Instead, this firm proposes excuses as to why it should not have to support its previous statements. I do not really expect anything from this firm given their interactions with me.
