I bought a house they had acquired from a repo. Their were several things that were just covered up and have lead to cost and headaches for me.
The grade of the yard next to the house caused water to enter garage. Instead of fixing it they removed the siding off of the wood at the base of the house and piled dirt and landscape rocks up against the wood. This has caused rot on the wood. I am sure it will cost a fortune to fix.
Instead of replacing a completely rotten toilette drain pipe they covered it with a patch and plastered and painted it to camouflage it. The inspector and I did not catch it. I found out 2 months later when it all fell apart.
They had removed a tree from the front yard and buried a large car part under the mulch. Not in the ground but under the mulch. I had to special dispose of it. The local trash people wont pick up car parts.
