I make a habit of patronizing locally owned businesses. They are usually unique and original in the products they offer. Ostrom’s is no exception. I grew up in Kenmore and have shopped there since it first opened. When I recently had a bad head cold I stopped by their new location for the first time. \r
I found the cough syrup I needed right inside the front door. Since I felt awful, I just made my purchase and was on my way. Later as I thought about it I realized that they had once again scored major brownie points with me. By placing the cold and flu remedies near the entrance they were providing a great time savings to those of us who were ill and they were protecting the rest of their customers from the germs cold and flu sufferers would have spread throughout the store if it had been arranged differently. \r
I have worked in retail sales and I know that high traffic areas are a great place to display impulse items. It’s clear to me that Ostrom’s is as interested in service as they are in profit. Although I made my purchase and was on my way I will be back son to peruse the rest of their new store. \r
Pros: clean bright store, friendly knowlegable staff
Cons: I can't walk to it since they have moved
