Buyer Beware Buying a New Car 1/21/2010

My son bought a vehicle from Naber of Shallotte NC, they said that his financing went through at 7.4 percent through BBT and that his first payment was due on Feb 14th 2010, stood up shook his hand and congratulated him on his new vehicle gave him a 30 day tag and a temp registration, told him his new registration would be in the mail with in 30 days and off he drove in his new Jeep, well when he went back in 4 days later to get his complimentary fill up and detail they told him the financing was pulled and he had to give the jeep back. \r After doing some research I found that it is legal for them to do this they have up to ten days to cancel a sale. This information evidently is on the back of the bill of sale on the yellow page at the bottom where no one reads, and they don't feel it is there place to point it out. They never once told him the financing was not secure yet or anything they shook his hand and let him drive off thinking the vehicle was his. I have sinced learned that other people have had this problem with dealerships and I just think it is WRONG! and something should be done about this information being kept from the buyer. Needless to say my son was devistated it was his first car loan and now knows why people say such bad things about car dealers. This information needs to be upfront and honest. I don't know what they gain from selling a vehicle and then taking it back, but, it needs to change! So Buyer Beware! make sure when you drive off a car lot that you have in writing that the deal is final! I hope this spares someone of the humiliation and frustration that my son went through. Cons: Does not have full disclosure more
