i received a phone call from office team in response to my resume which they saw online. i called and scheduled an appointment with them at their hartford, CT location. i was told to set aside 2 hours total for the meeting. upon arrival i was asked to fill out a very long and detailed application. i was slightly annoyed because all of the information they asked for was on my resume including references. then i was tested on typing, word and excel. i passed the tests but the tests were very long. i have 15 years of experience as a legal assistant. having to take a typing test just seemed moronic to me. i finally met with whitney who was very friendly. i was told after filling out all the paper work and testing that they did NOT have anything for me at the present time but that i should check back with them on a week to week basis. i allowed 3 weeks to pass before sending an email to whitney. she never responded. the following week i sent a second email to her asking if any jobs had come in. again, i heard nothing. later that week i decided to call whitney. the receptionist put me on hold and when she came back said i was to speak to mark. when i asked why she said mark and whitney work together. i said fine. she asked me to hold again. when she returned to the line she said mark was with a client and to leave a VM. i did leave a polite VM asking that someone please get back to me. i haven't heard one word from anyone at OFFICE TEAM and over a month has passed. it was such a waste of time to fill out the paperwork and test and then hear nothing back from anyone. why on earth did they contact me if they have nothing to offer? OFFICE TEAM is very unprofessional. especially in this recession, i could have gone to another staffing agency that handles their clients better. dont bother to go here.
