Don't let the renovated basement vibe at Silvertone fool you, this is one Boston spot that can't be missed. This isn't the kind of restaurant where you need your iPhone to decipher ingredients: the menu boasts a super creamy mac and cheese, a roast chicken better than your mom's, and steak tips that garnered awards from local pubs for the last umpteen years. It's crowded and a little cramped, but the food and cocktails are totally worth rubbing elbows with your new neighbors. The wine list starts at just $6, and many bottles have very little mark up over retail.
