At the foot of one of Joshua Tree National Park's entrances lies the unassuming, quirky yet completely unpretentious Crossroads Cafe. Their organic coffees are strong and tasty, and the staff is easygoing and ready to veganize most of their sizeable yet totally affordable plates if you desire. I went for both dinner and breakfast during our brief stay in town, and it was great both times. Help yourself to the silverware, and don't forget to bus your own plate at the end of the meal.
